Pure Ski Enjoyment from 1,064m to 2,400m
Skiing
Right next to our apartments you will find the ski area Aineck-Katschberg with 70 kilometers of slopes and probably one of the longest descents in the Alps with about 6 km in length and a height difference of approximately 1,100m. Just a few minutes away, the three other ski areas Grosseck-Speiereck, Fanningberg, and of course for all après-ski enthusiasts, Obertauern are waiting. In total, the region offers you over 300 kilometers of snow-safe slopes. You can get complete ski equipment just a few minutes' walk away at Sport Rest. For ski courses, it is best to contact the ski school Firn Sepp.

Ski Tours in Lungau
What could be more beautiful than leaving the first tracks in deep snow? Feel the complete freedom in the midst of unspoiled nature. Lungau is one of the absolute top ski touring regions, whether you prefer gentle ascents in the Nock mountains or challenging tours on the Preber. An absolute highlight is the moonlit tour to Aineck, every Monday starting at 4:00 PM you can set off right from your doorstep (also suitable for beginners). For equipment, it's best to contact Sport Rest, and if you want to play it safe, I recommend hiring a tour guide, which can be found at almost all ski schools.

Cross-Country Skiing at Prebersee
The possibly most intense winter experience
Lungau offers you more than 150 km of groomed cross-country and skating trails. If there is enough snow, you can start directly in front of our house. Additionally, there are 4 high-altitude trails (partially snow-covered) in the surrounding area. My recommendation is the high-altitude trail at Prebersee due to its unique panorama, where you become one with nature along the frozen mountain lake. To strengthen yourself, of course, you should head to Ludlalm where Lungau dishes and Austrian classics await you.

Snowshoe Hiking
For a special experience in winter, you can hike directly behind our Hoamat House along the Leisnitzbach to the wildlife park of the Gasthof Schlögelberger. Explore the unique nature and reward yourself with regional specialties from the kitchen. The snowshoes for you can be found at inhalte_lesen.
Biathlon in Lignitz
For those who need a bit of adrenaline, I recommend the Laser-Biathlon in Lignitz, Mariapfarr. Every Wednesday and Friday from 13:30 to 15:30 you can experience a fascinating sports technique yourself with modern and safe technology (suitable for all age groups).

Aineck-Katschberg is a family-friendly ski area for beginners and experts with 16 lifts and 70 km of slopes, a fun park with half pipe, pro jump, slide, and a 360, ski schools, cozy ski huts, and child care facilities.
